We were genuinely trying to de-escalate things and avoid a much worse outcome, but I think it just looked opportunistic and sloppy. You don't add security by adding stuff. You do it by improving architecture and fixing bugs. if your bot ends up actually making sense we have AGI. if you found out that we have a bug. There are many things the technology just isn’t ready for, and many areas we don’t yet understand the tradeoffs required for safety. We will work through these, with technical safeguards and other methods. One thing I think I did wrong: we shouldn't have rushed to get this out on Friday. It’s hard to beat someone who’s just having fun. a lion doesn't concern itself with bitstream counting. I have more ideas than the Laniakea and I wanna work with really smart driven people on it. Once we have the foundation going I'll see which of the maintainers do best and hire from there. Small improvements are happening frequently.
